Recorded in the magnificent book of Fabio Morlacchi/Stefano Salvetti ‘Alfa Romeo 6C 2500’, 915.819 left the Turin factory on 28 June 1949 and was registered on 22 December 1949 to its first owner Elena Petrovski of Padaso, a coastal town in the Province of Fermo in Italy. Documents on file from the Automobile Club D’Italia, ‘Ufficio Del Pubblico Registro Automobilistico’ again confirm that chassis 915.819 was licenced on 23rd August 1950 to Miss Petrovski. The next clear sighting of 915.819 came three years later at the 1953 Scottish Coronation Rally where the car entered as number 128 and was driven by Jimmy Caprara. Following the 1953 Scottish Coronation Rally, 915.819 remained in the UK and was re- registered with the Wallasey, UK registration CHF 730 in early 1955. 915.819 was to disappear from public view for the next 30 years, until 1985, when Mr. Bernard Johnson of Luton, United Kingdom purchased the car and started the process to restore 915.819 to its original glory. The restoration process has already commenced; the mechanical elements have been supported by some of the world’s leading experts. The engine and connecting rods by Formalls and the suspension by Jim Stoke Workshops. This work, recorded on file, totals in excess of £15,000. Further to the mechanical work, the Touring aluminium body has been stripped and ready for final preparation before painting. This car is Mille Miglia eligible and will surely be welcomed at prestigious driving events all over the world. With limited production numbers and stunning Italian coachwork, it will no doubt be a prized entry to renowned concours d’elegance, as well. With the mechanical hard work complete; 915.819 represents a rare opportunity to finish this Touring bodied car to a style and colour of the next custodians choosing.
