The 1970 AMC Javelin SST two-door hardtop fastback sports a Bittersweet Orange paint job (code 79A) applied during a recent restoration, concealing the original finish. The black vinyl roof contrasts with the bodywork, whilst a black stripe runs the full length of the vehicle. The grille and front wings carry badging indicating a 390 engine, and the left rear wing is adorned with the SST badge. A Mark Donohue signature ducktail spoiler with signature on the right corner equips the rear, paired with a Ram-air bonnet featuring a functional air intake and its intact seal beneath the cover. The engine bay houses a V8 whose block is considered a replacement due to the absence of displacement markings in the casting, although the factory sheet originally specified a 390 four-barrel. The transmission is a BorgWarner three-speed automatic with floor-mounted lever and wood-grain imitation centre console. The dual exhaust system terminates in recent silencers. The front brakes are power-assisted discs, complemented by rear drums. The black vinyl interior comprises bucket seats, dashboard and console with wood-grain trim, plus a wood-rimmed sport steering wheel. The Javelin instrument cluster and floor mats bearing the Javelin inscription complete the interior equipment. Air conditioning is absent due to a seized control, and the horn does not function following failure of the sound units and lack of electrical supply. The 14-inch AMC five-spoke wheels are fitted with American Motors centres and shod with Cooper Cobra Radial G/ T tyres with prominent white-letter sidewalls. The new battery incorporates a cut-off switch. Recent work includes replacement of the lower suspension arm bushes, resealing of the rear differential housing, transmission pan gasket replacement and replacement of the front brake calipers with circuit bleeding. Four-wheel alignment was performed and rear window seals were reglued. The short circuit in the dashboard wiring harness for the reversing lights was identified and repaired, whilst the carburettor was adjusted.
