1937 Austin Seven Ruby. A very charming and unspoilt Austin. Burgundy and Black with Oxblood leather upholstery. An amazing Ruby that has an amazing story attached to it. The car belonged to an American service man who stored it in a garage in Shepperton close to the then studios. The serviceman unfortunately didn’t return for the car and was left for some 18 years or so after the war. In a conversation with the then retired garage owner it was decided to take the car to the car to Hayling to save it being scrapped. Finding it was in remarkably good condition the Ruby was taken to Havant Motors who were Jaguar agents at the time for the bodywork to be restored, a thorough job carried out costing four figures. After this the car is driven in Havant and always garaged. After the passing of the owner the car his family moved the car to France as part of the family and stored in a drier climate in an air controlled cocoon. The Seven remained in France for some 20 years before returning to the U.K in 2017. The car then passed to a local gentleman who has spent the last three years refurbishing the Austin into the car you see today. No expense has been spared and a log has been kept of all the recent work carried out along with all invoices and bills. The large history file with the car dates back to the 60’s after the car was removed from Shepperton with some wonderful letters, invoices and stories of the cars life as well as original drivers handbook and instruction manual. This beautiful car is now ready to be enjoyed in new hands and is ready to attend any shows or rallies or just gentle drives out and about. A car we are very proud to own and a real credit to its last keeper. Absolutely any inspection is welcome. All major debit and credit cards accepted. Part exchange considered. Finance arranged.
