The 1965 Ford Mustang Fastback is one of the most iconic models of the first-generation ‘Mustang’, which defined the entire American sports coupé segment. It is the models from the mid-1960s that represent the purest and most authentic embodiment of the original Mustang concept – a stylish, affordable yet fully-fledged, high-performance car with real character. The Fastback variant is now considered the most sought-after body style thanks to its flowing roofline, sporty profile and timeless silhouette, which has become a symbol of the entire muscle car era. This 1965 model is powered by a 4. 7-litre (4727 cc) Ford Windsor 289 V8 engine producing 149 kW. The engine is mated to a three-speed automatic transmission and the car is rear-wheel drive (RWD), which was typical for this generation of Mustangs. The fastback body combines a sporty look with a rigid structure and remains one of the most valuable variants of the first-generation Mustang to this day. Visually, this example has been modified in the GT350 style, but this is purely an aesthetic modification – the car is not an original Shelby GT350. The vehicle was imported from the USA in 2022 and subsequently underwent registration and testing as a historic vehicle in the Czech Republic. According to the available documentation and club assessment, the technical condition and original configuration are largely preserved, including the engine, chassis and bodywork. The paintwork was carried out in the past by the previous owner in the USA, whilst the interior and other elements correspond to the period specification with minor modifications consistent with use and maintenance.
