Please find for sale my immaculate, and very desirable 1965 Jaguar S-Type with the 3.4 Straight Six and Auto gearbox.Power Steering & Servo assisted brakes. The vehicle has benefited from a full nut and bolt restoration over the last 10 years, including a “back to 0” mile engine rebuild only 1,200 miles ago, resulting in a highly usable and reliable classic that drives like new and drives impeccably. Within the engine rebuild, hardened valve seats were installed and therefore can now run on unleaded fuel without additive.
NEW MOT is until 6th July 2018
Engine rebuild work as below included but not limited to:
New Camshaft, valves and chains
New Water Pump
New Radiator and hoses
New Oil Pump
New Starter Motor
New Brake Servo
New End Shells
Re-bored Cylinder Block
Regrind Crankshaft
Balancing and re-ring Pistons and rods
Lap in / vacuum test valves.
Engine rebuild completed by H.T Howard, Slough – all work receipted.
All floor panels have been replaced, and any rust was removed during the restoration – as such the body work is immaculate. The brakes have also recently had a major overhaul.
The gearbox was rebuilt as part of the restoration work and has only done several hundred miles, as has the front and rear axle which were fully rebuilt, with new bushes, coils and shock absorbers. The vehicle has new electronic SU fuel pumps, dynamo and electronic ignition, with a Viper dry coil fitted.
The interior of the vehicle is trimmed in dark blue leather, which compliments the burr walnut trim and dash very well – again, this is in pristine condition and requires no work at all, the carpets are new.
The chrome is as new on the vehicle, having been re-chromed and then stored throughout the restoration process.
The vehicle is currently being used for weddings, which provides some idea of the condition and is being offered for sale due to a XJ 12 project being the next task at hand.
The Jaguar S-Type is an automobile which was produced by Jaguar Cars in the United Kingdom from 1963 to 1968. It was a technically more sophisticated development of the Jaguar Mark 2, offering buyers a more luxurious alternative to the Mark 2. The S-Type used a mid-scale version of the Mark X independent rear suspension to replace the Mark 2's live rear axle and featured longer rear bodywork, among other styling and interior changes.
