Triumph Spitfire 1500 in signal red having had a full body off ground up restoration in 2014 and only covered less than 3000 miles since.
Rebuilt on a new powder coated chassis with many new body panels which included full floors, full sills, full doors,
rear wings, boot lid, bulkhead panels, front and rear valences and of course a full respray.
The car has the desirable overdrive and being a 1500 pulls like a train with gobfulls of low down torque. Will return 40 mpg plus on a run.
Mechanical refurbishment included a reconditioned unleaded engine, clutch with hydrulic cylinders. All new suspension including front and rear springs and front and rear shock absorbers. New braking system including copper brake lines, stainless steel braided hoses, discs, brake drums, master cylinder, wheel cylinders and handbrake cable.
Stainless steel twin outlet sports exhaust, nice note without being too loud. Carburettors rebuilt with waxstat free jets.
Other new parts included wheels and centre caps.
Black vinyl hood,full length tonneau cover and tan hood cover. Seat back foam replaced along with many other items such as new chrome bonnet catches and hood studs.
It took me over a year to find one in this condition and a reluctant sale due to the purchase of a Triumph TR3B.
The car was registered November 1978 and has an MOT till August 18, 2018. Recorded mileage is 71800 which is believed to be correct.
