This is a beautiful 1971, Historic Vehicle registered (Free Road Tax) Triumph Spitfire ready to go and/or show. 12 months MOT, due 30 March 2018
The car has been updated with a 1500 engine and overdrive gearbox, both working as they should, no clonks bang or rattles. The car has been fitted with a GT6 bonnet.
In general excellent condition good seats. Rock solid chassis and body to match in a VW Deep Black colour. An upgraded radiator and genuine Kenlow adjustable fan has been fitted. The exhaust is a full stainless system in excellent condition. The Minilite wheels are near perfect and the tyres have plenty of life left in them (including the spare).
The interior has a burr elm dash and Chrome rimmed dials, inertia reel seat belts with stainless belt guides. Good carpets and firm seats that are in good condition, and a genuine Moto Lita steering wheel. The two speed fan and heater are in perfect working order.
The bad bits. It has been fitted with the wrong speedo (for a 1300 I think) and it registers slow (i.e. and indicated 40mph is just over 50mph). The bumpers are not bad looking and are solid but dented and pitted, I was quoted £550 inclusive to remove the dents and re-chrome. The boot lid is GRP the hood is functional and waterproof but the windows have been repaired.
In addition to the car there is an extensive photo history file, Haynes manual project file and associated paperwork. Some spares including a good condition working alternator and original air filter.
This is not a perfect car but a very good/excellent example of this rapidly appreciating classic car.
