1957 leyland steer engine : leyland 600 vertical 6 cylinder diesel engine ( 9.8 litres ) producing 125 bhp @ 1,800 rpm wheel configuration : 6 x 2 ( popularly known as a chinese 6 ) this is reputed to be one of only four of this model to survive fitted with the leyland 0.600 engine 5 speed crash type gearbox overhead worm drive back axle. she has been restored as a working lorry and is finished in the original owners livery. the engine starts first time everytime and she maintains a good healthy 60lb oil pressure. she has full air braking, but does not however have power steering. top speed is around 40mph. just been fitted with new hardwood timber deck and side rails. 4 new 10.00 x 20 tyres and new batteries she is a beatiful lorry to drive.
has attended many shows and rallies over the years including the h.c.v.s london to brighton run, she is a well known and much photographed and a rare piece of british commercial vehicle history.
