Close Meet Betty Blue, a German-made VW Split-Screen that spent most of her life as a delivery vehicle in Austria, complete with her original delivery logbooks. She was later imported to England and transformed into a camper van. The current owners have had her just under three years, using her for camping trips, weddings, and various car and vintage shows.
The build features a reliable 1. 7 turbo diesel Isuzu engine paired with the original 4-speed transmission. The van has been professionally resprayed and fitted with front safari windows, giving it a classic and stylish look. It is equipped with a Victron Multiplus 1200W split charge inverter, a 95Ah leisure battery, and a 230V hook-up for convenient power access. Inside, there is a fridge, a joinery unit with a seat, pull-out cooker, cutlery drawer, storage cupboard, and a pull-out cooking area. It also includes a dining table, USB sockets, and a digital voltage display. The rock-and-roll bed provides a comfortable sleeping space. A Retro Sounds chrome stereo with USB capability is installed, though speakers will need to be added.
The exterior features a 3-bow roof rack and a rack ladder, adding practicality and style. A folder of invoices and paperwork documents the work done in the past, providing peace of mind. Thanks to its reliable diesel engine, this camper is perfect for weddings and events.
As this camper has been used for its intended purpose and not just as a showpiece, there are a few very minor paint chips, but nothing significant. All in all Betty's a true classic that combines practicality with charm.
