Seller's comments about 1965' Alfa Romeo Giulietta

L'Atelier des 1000 is delighted to offer for sale this 1965 Alfa Romeo Giulietta TI, presented in an elegant sky blue finish paired with a blue leather interior. Introduced in 1955, the Giulietta represents a major model in Alfa Romeo's history. Nicknamed in its early days "Italy's sweetheart", it allowed the Milanese marque to make the pleasure of driving a genuine Alfa Romeo accessible to the masses. The Giulietta TI, for Turismo Internazionale, rounds out the range with an approach more focused on versatility and grand touring. It retains the famous all-aluminium dual overhead cam four-cylinder, a true technical signature of Alfa Romeo, whilst offering an exceptionally refined driving experience suited to road use. The Giulietta would also distinguish itself in competition and contributed significantly to building the marque's sporting image. It would spawn several particularly sought-after variants, including the Giulietta Sprint and the legendary Sprint Veloce, before gradually giving way to the Giulia in the mid-1960s. This 1965 example benefits from particularly careful presentation and an engine that has undergone several evolutions and significant work over the years. The various works represent approximately 40, 000 EUR over the past fifteen years, including a mechanical and bodywork restoration carried out in 2012, testament to the substantial investments devoted to this Giulietta. The famous Alfa Romeo four-cylinder benefits from particularly interesting preparation and overhaul. The 530-type engine has notably undergone a complete rebuild, with quality components. The engine notably receives high-compression pistons as well as a cylinder head overhaul, carried out in 2012, allowing optimisation of performance whilst preserving the architecture and character of the original engine. The camshafts are new and to original specification. The preparation also includes a manifold and exhaust from a 1300 Veloce, offering a sporting note and particularly highlighting the character of the Bialbero. Several improvements have also been made to enhance reliability, such as the addition of an oil cooler, an electric fuel pump and a vapour recovery system. The whole thus retains the liveliness and rev-building characteristics typical of Alfa Romeo engines of this era, whilst benefiting from a particularly thorough overhaul. The gearbox benefits from SZ-type gearing, a particularly interesting evolution for this Giulietta, and offers smooth gear changes and precise engagement. The clutch, replaced on this occasion, performs its role perfectly and shows no particular signs of wear. The braking is effective and reassuring. The master cylinder was notably replaced some years ago. A new alternator, a steering relay ring, wheel shaft oil seals and a brake fluid reservoir are also among the other work carried out. All the running gear and braking contribute to balanced handling, allowing you to fully enjoy the characteristic liveliness of the Giulietta. The suspension has been replaced with Koni springs and dampers, further enhancing driving pleasure. The Giulietta sits on Sprint Veloce-type alloy wheels, shod with new tyres. The bodywork presents excellent consistency and was completely restored on invoice in 2012. The paintwork presents very well today and retains a fine lustre, whilst showing some signs of use, without these detracting from the overall good presentation of the car. The underside is sound, as is the rest of the car. The interior has also benefited from careful restoration, for over 5, 000 EUR of documented work, notably including the leather upholstery, door panels, carpeting and Tripmaster. The leather upholstery presents very well today and offers fine quality finishing. The whole retains a sober and elegant ambiance, perfectly in keeping with the model. The interior presentation is consistent and testifies to the care taken in this restoration. Given the work carried out, the configuration and condition of this vehicle, we are offering this vehicle at the price of 24, 990 EUR. Part-exchange and trade-in considered.
