Post Vintage Austin 16/ 6 Iver Reg VJ4001 First registered 05/ 11/ 1931 2249cc 6 cylinder, known to Vintage Austin Register and The Austin 10 Drivers club. Finish in dark blue and black. with blue leather to the driving compartment and Bedford cord to the rear for added comfort. The glass division in the Iver makes it an ideal vehicle for weddings as can be seen from the photographs . There is an interesting history file which confirms the car was supplied by George Hopkins and Sons Motor Engineers and Coach Builders in Ledbury established 1833. The car was purchased by the Lloyd Sisters of Malvern who were fortunate enough to employ a chauffeur, they owned the car for 42 years and very kindly left the car to the chauffeur in 1973. In the early years the car was serviced by Bowman & Acock Ltd. Of Malvern Link. The car is rare and very original but in 2009 indicators were fitted in the interest of safety. The file gives an indication of some of the work and parts supplied by various well know firms. Whilst in my ownership The instrument panel has been rewired using vintage wiring, water pump has been fully rebuilt and machined, starter motor has been rebuilt, new bushes fitted to the rear shock absorbers and various other work carried out. The original handbook and parts list is with the car.
