Seller's comments about 1936' Ford Standard
1936 Ford Fordor Standard Sedan
At first glance this car may come across as really nothing special but upon closer inspection we are gazing at a true original in its simplest form of a 1936 Ford Fordor sedan. With minimal chrome adornments it has a fab design using curved bumpers, a hump back trunk, and undulating fenders and running boards. Reliable, affordable, and a true family car for the mid-1930s is here for the taking.

Exterior
Original Henry Ford & Son sheet metal, this body features all original glass and tracks, weather strip, bumpers, bonded rubber running boards, soft roof, shared B-pillar latched doors, deluxe spare tire cover and shiny hinges for said trunk. Some additional deluxe trim has been added to bling it up a tad. Throw on some horizontal ribs on the cowled hood, grille surround, and hidden black open horn bezels. Beautifully preserved gently curved chrome bumpers with vertical bars to protect them on front and rear and we are off to the rally. Included are blackwall tires with black wheels and moon caps with a chromed edge and a V8 badge in the center. There are a few chips in the paint, mostly confined to the edges near the rockers and lowers, and chrome has slight dulling but it is original. No rust on this exterior steel.
Interior
Inside some TLC will be required as we note solid stitched-lined door panels which have some water damage. Original cranks and actuators are on and appear in shiny condition. Inside, more silk tufted and tucked and wide rolled seats have several patches in them from previous repairs. The seats retain their original shape and are still solid and not saggy. This holds true for the rear bench as well. The floors are not covered with any carpeting, and show some surface and a little invasive rusting of the steel. The dash is full metal jacket, painted brown and is very simply adorned with warm cream-colored round sweep gauges that are wonderfully vintage. This also holds true for the large round Bakelite steering wheel with another V8 central badge. Above, a mohair headliner is still tight and shows aging and fading, but with no real obvious faults.
Drivetrain
Under the hood is the factory 221ci V8 flathead engine. It has a single 2-barrel carburetor feeding it and it is sans air cleaner, and in back is a 3-speed manual transmission. The rear axle weighs in at 4.11. The engine and heads show surface rust and have gone unrestored but some newer parts have been put on as you can see the visual difference.
Undercarriage
A new black fuel tank sticks out in a field of heavily surface-rusted undercarriage framing, floor pans, and suspension with mechanicals also surface rusted. Speaking of which we see mechanical drum brakes all around and transverse leaf springs for front and rear. A stock exhaust is installed. Despite the heavy surface rust, there does not appear to be any invasive rust causing structural issues.
Drive-Ability
Having been in storage since 1968, some tinkering and mechanical once-overs will be required before you’re off robbing banks and outrunning the lawman.
Utilitarian family transportation was affordable during the Great Depression, and Ford managed to sell millions of these as people were still spreading their travel wings, and this car fits the bill!
