The 16/6 Iver is the top of the range Austin model on the 16/6 chassis with a wind-up division.
The car is in very good condition both mechanically and bodily with a very good interior. The engine was rebuilt with new bearings and pistons three years ago and it runs very smoothly and quietly with good oil pressure of 30lbs when hot. The back axle is quiet as is the gearbox. The clutch operates smoothly with no slipping. The brakes are what you expect from an Austin – adequate! The car is very reliable and starts well, giving a comfortable ride.
The car is cream and black and presents well with good shiny paint. The interior is blue leather to the front and grey Bedford cord to the rear. The division works well as does the smokers hatch.
The car retains all of its original features and comes with a fitted trunk.
I have owned the car since 2001, it has had regular use and has been well maintained. I find it very reliable and satisfying to drive.
