1959' Austin A35

Introduced in 1956, the Austin A35 replaced the super successful Austin A30;
The name reflected the greater capacity of the four-cylinder in-line engine, from the «A-Series» series, which was also more powerful, delivering 54hp, allowing the A35 a slightly higher top speed and better acceleration than its predecessor;
Aesthetically, the A35 is very similar to the A30, with the exception of a larger rear window and a front grille painted with a chrome frame. The turn signals have also been modernised, using indicator lights instead of 'traffic light' indicators;
It used 13-inch wheels like the A30;
The gearbox used a selector that was simpler to use than the A30, and the better staggered gear ratios were crucial to the A35's better performance;
Like the A30, the A35 was available in versions «2 door sallon» (2 doors), «4 door sallon» (4 doors), «Countryman» (2-door van) and «Van» (2-door van ). There was also a small production run of just 477 units of a «PickUp» version;
