1959 Austin A40 Farina MK I Deluxe. Horizon Blue with a Black Roof and beautiful Pale Blue upholstery. Optional extras included a heater, reversing light and windscreen washers. This wonderful Farina will be one of the best examples left in existence. As shown on the Heritage Certificate, it was built on 2nd April 1959 and registered new on 9th April by L F Dove of Croydon and given the registration number VOY182 which it still wears today. Its first owner only had the car for three years until 1962 when he died and left the car to a family friend in his will. This friend kept it for 15 years until 1977 when he passed it on to his son, a Rolls Royce engineer and long serving respected committee member of the A40 Farina Club, who kept the car for 39 years until he died in 2016. This engineer had a full body restoration carried out on the car in 1992 by Auto-Renovations of Chesterfield with new panels supplied by the Radford Panel Company of Warwick. The original invoices for this work at a cost of £2511. 74 are in the history file. Since this work the car has only covered around 10000 careful miles travelling to dozens of classic car shows of which details are in the history file. It has been a prize winner on more than one occasion. In March 2007, the long term owner had a full engine rebuild at a cost of £1224. 27 and since then the car has only covered 3302 miles. In November 2013 it was featured in seven page article in Practical Classics magazine testing Swinging Sixties saloons. Two copies of the magazine are included in the history file. The current MOT runs until June 2023 although it is now MOT exempt and the car will have a fresh mot applied upon sale. The car has covered just 60, 000 miles from new. The very large history file contains the current V5, copies of previous V5s, the current MOT certificate, lots of previous MOT certificates dating back to the 1970s confirming the low mileage as correct, also a huge amount of invoices for parts and work completed, insurance policies over many years and lists of classic car shows attended along with a charming hand-written fuel log book. A lovely charming car that is ready for its next adventure. Absolutely any inspection welcome. All major debit and credit cards accepted. Part exchange considered. Finance arranged. Free U. K mainland delivery. Please contact us for further information. Lots more pictures and a video on our website and Facebook pages.
