Hello and welcome to the sale of this rather lovely 1938 Austin big seven. The Austin 7 has always been one of my all time favourites and the big seven is no exception as it gives a little bit more of a refined and spacious experience without losing any of the Austin charm!

The car is a 1938 2 door model that is just full of character, I love they way these little things drive I can guarantee that it will put a huge smile on you're face as soon as you get behind the wheel! Being the big seven it has the larger 900cc engine meaning that cruising about isn't too difficult with a happy cruising speed of around 50mph, the big seven also has the rather smooth 4 speed box meaning that most people new to this kind of motoring could just hop straight in it and go! Ive had a few friends drive the car up and down my drive and they have instantly got to grips with the controls. Only thing I would say about this type of pre war motoring is the brakes are nowhere near as good as other cars which is a shock for some but lets face it these are much better to drive on the open roads than the early sevens. Inside is a really nice place to be with the well aged leather seats which are in very good condition for the age of them, the headliner is all fairly nice, sunroof looks good but I have yet to try and open it as I’ve found the opening front windscreen is all you really need for cooling!

Mechanically the car is actually really nice, the engine sounds spot on and it drives very well with no major crunches from the gearbox and a very good feeling clutch, these do have electric start and the hand crank is also included if you are feeling a bit adventurous or have a flat battery.

The body of the car is overall very straight with minimal signs of previous repairs but I feel it has had a respray and some point in its lifetime and its starting to show its age a bit but some people would love the look as it gives the car an honest patina vibe (cliché I know) and others not so much but for the price I am asking you cannot be expecting a mint example. The underbody of the car again is very good, I have found no rust on, my time underneath it and it looks as if its been well maintained, I even have a small history folder to go with the car which is always a nice thing to have.

So what am I asking for this little pre war beauty? Just £4995 which I feel is very fair for a running driving ready to use seven. What other pre war running driving cars could you get for sub 5k!
The car is located in worthing west sussex and I can send plenty more pictures on request and can help with delivery.
