We are very pleased to offer a super rare survivor 1970 Austin Mini Mk3. Finished in Antelope with a contrasting red trim. I am a huge fan of Mk3 Minis as they offer the pure Mini driving experience but are also very useable. This is a very early matching numbers MK3 that has had the right levels of preservation to keep it in good solid condition. This is an unrestored example that has lost none of its original character and patina. If space allowed I would simply keep this Mini as its condition, originality and rarity mean its hard to replace and I adore driving it. It is accompanied with a service history folder, every MOT certificate since 1981 and copies of previous log books. It had only 1 owner form 1970 to 2011. It also has its original commission number and FE body number. If you are after a genuine and well preserved early Mini that gets huge amounts of attention then this may be the one for you.
On the road the Mini performs very well. The original 1000cc engine holds strong oil pressure and performance is brisk. The gearbox is precise and the brakes are very effective. What it does do is make you smile as it motors through the twisty roads. The experience of driving on the ten inch wheels combined with the original steering wheel is all you need.
The interior is also very well presented and again very original and wearing its 53 years well. It has rare Red vinyl seats which do have minor tares, three clock binnacle, rare internal bonnet release which I have only seen on Cooper S models and the central switch panel for the ignition key and push button windscreen wash.
The shell is super solid and testament to this Mini being cared for. Solid floor pans, boot floor and the correct vented sills. The subframes are also solid and it has excellent panel gaps. The paintwork is what gives it the character, well presented and aged and with some marks and blemishes but it would be a real shame to take away its original charm by painting it. Judging by the attention it gets I feel its better left alone and given how solid it is it will probably look the same in another 20 years.
The Mini is fully serviced, checked and driven and has a long MOT and is ready to find a new owner who will hopefully preserve this wonderful time capsule. It is also MOT and tax exempt.
Viewings are welcome and I am happy to answer questions you may have either through here or on the details below or the details below (Paul)
