This particular car was manufactured in Oshawa, Canada and is a right hand drive specially for the UK. Registered in London in July 1935 this car is in exceptional condition and was dry stored and practically unused for 20 years except incurring basic maintenance. As the photograph shows, the vehicle is in delightful order both internally and externally and looks quite splendid in its brown and cream paintwork. The interior of the car is finished in its original upholstery and has brown leather which is nicely mellowed.
During my ownership since 1995 I have been its fourth owner and it has been used as a wedding car and hires for charitable purposes i.e Edinburgh Cavalcade, various shows and Christmas Parades. It won the award for the best American Car at the "Wheels of Yester Year" in 1997 that took place at Dalmeny near Edinburgh.
For reliability as a hire vehicle, its original engine a straight 8 was taken out in 2004 for preservation and storage being replaced with a V8 Rover engine. For spare parts, I also have a scrapped 1934 Buck Series 40 along with the original engine, workshop manual and V5 Log Book. These are all part of the sale. Finally, another interesting feature is that apparently, BYR 917 was used by Phil Collins for his wedding car when it was owned by his manager Tony Smith. This car is vary rare as a left hand drive Series 90 Club Sedan.
