Seller's comments about 1930' Citroen Ac 4

For sale by auction on Saturday 4th March 2017 with Historics at the Brooklands Museum, Weybridge, Surrey.

Registration BF8091
Chassis Number 825052
Engine Number L9530
Estimate £8,000 - £10,000

The AC4 was manufactured from 1928 through to 1932 and was available in several body types; a saloon, convertible or a coupe de ville. Competitively priced, the vehicle proved very popular with some 70,000 units manufactured in the first year of production. Early examples suffered from mechanical issues, namely premature wear of the cylinder, however this was rectified with the adaptation of some parts from the AC6. Once rectified by Citroën, the AC4 continued to be a huge success.

This This delightful lefthand drive example was purchased by the vendor in Holland, he has since registered the car on UK number plates with the DVLA. The 1600cc, four-cylinder engine ran very well during our inspection with no adverse rattles or noises. We are advised by the vendor that she drives well with everything operating correctly. Clearly restoration work has been carried out on BF 8091, thought to have been around 1985, this appears to have been to a reasonable standard and, as such, the car is in a perfectly useable condition. This spacious saloon has all the charm of a pre-war vehicle with presence and grace aplenty. The rear passenger compartment has a couple of small occasional seats and there is a lovely double action trunk at the rear of this Citroën AC 4. Supplied with a V5C registration document together with the necessary documentation confirming all duties have been paid.
