Pulled out of a chicken shed just outside Paris 20 years ago in a very sorry state, this superb nut and bolt restoration of a one-of-a-kind 1926 Citroen B12 Landaulet taxi is, quite simply, stunning.

Known affectionately as Le Taxi, it comes complete with a sumptuous Bridge of Weir leather interior and plush carpeting and West of England wool headlining plus working opera lights - the mesdames and monsieurs would visit the opera and then afterwards in the fog would be able to recognise their taxi by its lights - plus a whole host of interesting features.

The original taxi meter is still on the vehicle with leather pull straps to raise and lower the windows, a jaeger clock, original horn door catches and inlay panels, a beautiful cantilever roof and partition glass.

The body has been made using new ash and the exterior paintwork and wickerwork is both detailed and eye-catching.

The chauffeur, sitting on Connolly leather, has a roof that can be rolled up as well as a luggage compartment at the front.

The three speed gear box and 1432cc engine are in perfect working order.

The money and time spent on this most beautiful of cars is eye-watering but it’s more important that it finds a good home.

A comprehensive folder documenting the rebuild also comes with the sale.

This car is ready to drive or show at any concours event.

Viewing is strictly by appointment only.
