Reluctantly for sale is our 1953 Traction Avant. She was built in Paris and imported to the UK I believe in the early 1990’s. She’s a Normale model, making her slightly longer and slightly wider than the smaller Legere models. The engine is the standard 1911cc 4-cylinder petrol engine, coupled to the standard 3-speed manual gearbox. Being a Parisian built example, the clocks are in KM; currently showing around 14, 400km but likely to increase slightly with light use.
The overall condition of the vehicle is very good, which I hope is reflected in the photographs. The car underwent extensive overhaul with her previous owner, including a full respray about 10 years ago, as such the bodywork is extremely smart for a car of this age. The interior also received attention in the way of new seat covers, a new headlining and cleaned up door cards. Some areas such as the paint on the dashboard have been left to show a little patina; the car is not concourse but is extremely presentable. The car seats four in total, with rear seatbelts having been retrofitted in the past.
I have recently replaced the brake cylinders, brake fluid, fitted a new ethanol-resistant fuel hose, dismantled, cleaned and refitted various electrical switchgear and fitted a more reliable indication flasher relay and switchgear amongst other little jobs.
Viewing is welcome, the car is approximately 15 minutes from J14 of the M6. Tax and MOT exempt - registered in the historic tax class with the DVLA.
