Seller's comments about 1972' Ferrari 250

The Ferrari 365 GTC/ 4 occupies an interesting place in Maranello’s history. Built for just two years between 1971 and 1972, it arrived alongside the Daytona and shared much of the same mechanical package, including a version of Ferrari’s legendary 4. 4-litre Colombo V12. Yet while the Daytona has always grabbed the headlines, the GTC/ 4 quietly became the choice for those who wanted their Ferrari to cover serious distances in comfort.Just 500 examples were produced, with only 31 built in right-hand drive. This particular car was completed in October 1971 and supplied new to the UK, making it one of a very small number of UK-delivered examples.Penned by Pininfarina, the GTC/ 4 is a subtle and elegant design. The proportions are unmistakably Ferrari, but there’s a restraint to the styling that has aged remarkably well. It was also a more expensive car than the Daytona when new, reflecting its position as Ferrari’s premier grand tourer rather than an outright sports car. That said, performance was anything but lacking. The 4. 4-litre V12 breathes through six twin-choke Weber carburettors and produces around 340bhp, enough for a top speed of approximately 150mph and a 0-60mph time of around seven seconds. Independent suspension all round, using wishbones and coil springs, combined with four-wheel disc brakes, gave the GTC/ 4 road manners that were considered exceptional at the time and remain impressive today.Finished in Grigio Le Sancy over a black leather interior, this example wears one of those colour combinations that suits the car perfectly. The metallic grey emphasises the shape without shouting about it, while the black leather cabin feels every inch the gentleman’s express Ferrari intended it to be.Showing 41, 000 miles, this is a rare opportunity to acquire one of Ferrari’s lesser-seen V12 models from the period many enthusiasts consider the marque’s golden era. Values have steadily strengthened as collectors have begun to appreciate what the GTC/ 4 always was: a beautifully engineered, wonderfully usable Ferrari V12 that offers much of what makes a Daytona special, but with a character entirely its own.As ever, we have a full digital file available on request, including additional images, walkaround videos, and service history scans. The car is available to view by appointment at our West London showroom.
