Seller's comments about 1967' Ford Cortina

RHD 1967 Ford Cortina MkII GT 1. 6 4-Speed Manual. Finished in Ermine white with a black interior, this 1967 Ford Cortina MkII GT is an exceptional restored example of Ford’s iconic sporting saloon. The car was purchased by the previous owner in February 2012, where it subsequently underwent a comprehensive restoration. The restoration included a complete strip-down of the exterior paint, with the doors, bonnet, glass, engine, gearbox, suspension and rear axle removed. The bodyshell was entrusted to CL Panel Craft of Braintree, a classic car restoration specialist, where it received extensive fabrication work and a full repaint. Upon return, the suspension was fully overhauled and repainted, all brakes were renewed with new brake pipes, and new replica Dunlop D1 wheels were fitted.Considerable care was taken to retain originality where possible, with as many original nuts and bolts as practical. The interior benefits from brand-new Aldridge trimmers carpets, new genuine door rubbers, a new boot floor covering, and retains its original 1970s 8-track player, preserving the period feel of the car.Power comes from the 1. 6-litre crossflow rebuilt by Vulcan engineering to 110hp specification, which has been modified and fitted with a Kent camshaft to improve performance while remaining true to the character of the GT. The engine has recently been fully serviced and upgraded with electronic ignition. A new fuel pump has been fitted, with the fuel system drained and replenished in 2026, ensuring the car is well prepared for use.The Cortina GT is now a rare sight on UK roads, with relatively few genuine examples remaining. This MkII GT represents an excellent opportunity to acquire a correctly presented, well-restored car that has clearly benefitted from long-term ownership and careful attention to detail.Detailed walk-around video can be found on our website.
