Seller's comments about 1977' Ford Cortina
Ford Cortina Mk3 1. 6 Pickup or Bakkie as they are known in South Africa. This is a genuine Ford factory built pickup which were not available here. Its solid and tidy and looks to have been well looked after. All tax and duty has been paid and the NOVA declaration done. We will assist the new owner with the UK registration in their name.
Body - Genuine factory built pickup. Similar to our P100 pickups but we only got these from a MK5. Really solid from front to back. In the main all original apart from a couple of repairs on the rear cab floor. These are not invisible repairs but at the same time are decent and not offensive like some ive seen. It needs no work underneath. Panel gaps are all good. Paint is pretty nice. Not a show winner but wouldnt look out of place at a show either. Bed is solid and looks to have had the bed floor replaced .
Mechanics - 1600 crossflow with 4 speed box and standard running gear. Engine is good and nice and quiet, Gearbox is fine as are the clutch and brakes. Carb will need a bit tweaking due to the different climate but the truck drives very well for its age. Lots of new parts fitted by the looks of it including track rod ends, polybushes. As with any old vehicle it will need a good checkover before being used in anger. Heater not connected
Interior. - Seats are ok. Door cards are useable but a bit tired looking. Dash top could do with being recovered.
Wheels - 13" Superlite style wheels with good tyres. Possibly just a little too wide as stick out a touch from arches
