This was imported from South Africa and now is UK registered, the vehicle has a period issued correct number plate and is tax/ mot exempt.
Here we have a nice looking Escort that is in good condition with only 55764 km on the clock. Has its original service books.
Mechanics
1600 crossflow engine/ auto box starts and runs ok, although we have only tested around our yard. Being an Auto has the bigger tunnel so ideal for type 9 swaps. As with all our imports we recommend going over the car and just double checking the usual stuff brakes etc, as the vehicle is approaching 45+ years old.
Bodywork/ Exterior
Engine bay is in good condition, inner wings, wing rails, but bottom of heater bowl lip has gone.
Pillars, arches, sills are fine.
Bodywork looks in good condition and looks to have been recently repainted. Its a nice job and looks good.
Chassis rails all good, both front floor pans need addressing as they have been repaired but not to a good standard.
Both wells have been repaired.
Interior
Good condition but front seats are tearing.
Front floor carpet is worn both sides..
Door cards all good, no speaker holes.
Headlining is good with no rips or damage.
Dash top has been recovered.
So overall a nice clean Escort which could be ready to go on the road fairly easy.
