Age: 95 years

Found as a rolling chassis in a shed 10 years ago, this 1927 Hillman 14 was restored to 'Special' spec over the course of 4 years. Sporting its original radiator, the body was constructed in aluminium over an ash frame. 21" wheels give the Hillman a stately presence on the road. Fuel is delivered from its new fuel tank by electric pump. The build is fully documented. Incorporating a 1948 Morris 6 MS engine, the car has been recorded at 83mph on the rolling road. Cruising at a more sedate 50 - 60mph, the Hillman has toured France and Holland without problems. There is ample luggage space behind the seats for such touring. Equipped with disc brakes discreetly hidden in the front drums, it is a practical everyday motor that easily keeps up in traffic. Marchal headlamps, indicators and a reversing light contribute to its practicality. It is in regular use all the year round.
