Seller's comments about 1959' Hillman Minx Iiia
Hillman Minx 1959 Series IIIA, Great Classic . Will drive away as is and would trust it any distance. No MOT needed ( or necessary in my opinion ) Road TAX free. Everything in working order!
Everyone has a different expectation of what a true classic car is , and if you are reading this you probably know not to expect a mint showroom classic . However I have tried to keep this car as near to original as possible and I would be happy to use this car every day ( and have done so at one point ). If you want Concourse this is not the car for you, however I’m pretty sure it could be made so with the right motivation. I love the car as it is though and to me it would not be classic if it did not show some signs of age.
It would probably be quicker to mention the things I have NOT done to this car since I have owned it , but will list a few things ....
Changed Oil and filter , Gear box oil , Diff oil. Flushed cooling system and re filled (with new anti freeze ) . Tyres , welding ( although not very much ), Clutch seals , Brake seals , door trims , heater valve , Spark plugs + leads , coil ,Distributor cap ....etc etc .
The price will include many spares. A spare engine ! ( although definitely not needed ) . A spare gearbox ( this is the original gearbox that has been rebuilt ) . I actually wanted to put the original gearbox back even though there is nothing wrong with the one that’s in there . But I just cant ever seem to find the time or energy to get on with that these days. There is also a spare heater box , carburetor, Rear window , side windows , fuel pump ( will probably need a new seal kit ).
I could do a deal without the spares but would rather let them all go with the car. Spares can be hard to get hold of and would certainly cost much more if you had to collect them yourself.

There is a genuine reason for this sale as I can’t really go any further with this car and now need another challenge. Also I have had many hours of enjoyment working and driving this car and feel the need for a change.
It has 58000 on the clock and I personally believe this to be true, however I have no way of proving this. The chassis is solid as is the rest of the car. Although there is still room for improvement on some of the bodywork ....for example sorting out a few dents or imperfection with the lines, and a few scratches, it really looks good and turns heads where ever I go.
Dont forget this car is 58 years old and will have evidence of work done over the years. There is a tear on the front seat but it has never bothered me and at one time I was thinking of having it re covered. It was not going to be too expensive but decided to keep with the originality.
