Model Description:
The 1950s was the time when Jaguar stood on the podium of the world-famous Le Mans race. The arms race of car builders was in full swing. In 1961, the Jaguars XK150 - although excellent civilian cars - were no longer enough to ensure the company's places on the podium. Jaguar needed a big leap forward to increase sales and brand prestige. The Jaguar E-Type introduced in Geneva in March 1961 was that. The car became an absolute sensation. The exterior had a beautiful, sensual design. Moreover, the car set new stylistic and technical standards. The all-new independent rear suspension, designed by Bob Knight, was mounted on a cradle that was bolted to the body via rubber-and-steel fasteners. This type of suspension guaranteed excellent handling and unprecedented comfort. Jaguar E-Type combined the best features - it was very fast, beautiful, refined and comfortable. Most road testing was done on a few outdoor roadsters, but the decision was made to produce a coupe body. The closed body version was named Fixed Head. The reaction from both journalists and the public was ecstatic. Rarely has a car been so praised.

Carrying system
Self-supporting body. Front suspension based on MacPherson struts.
Rear suspension based on a Panhard beam and link with coil springs and shock absorbers.
Engine
Twelve-cylinder, liquid-cooled, four-stroke V-engine located longitudinally at the front. Spark ignition, one spark plug per cylinder. The valves are controlled by a single camshaft driven by a roller belt.
Drive system
The manual gearbox has four speeds and a reverse gear. It is controlled by a stick installed in the floor.
Braking system
The disc brake system is equipped with two servo-servo circuits, independently for the front and rear wheels.
