Seller's comments about 1933' Jaguar Ss1

Sales informationThis unique SS 1 Coupe was delivered on 9 June 1933 by the English dealer Fogdens to John Manning from Essex. John had to lay down the substantial sum of 325 pounds sterling at the time, and owned the car until 1954, when George South, also resident in Essex, became the second owner. He kept the SS until 1970 and sold it with a 78, 809 mile odometer reading to Delbert Mortimer from Michigan, USA. A nice detail is that, according to the accompanying invoice, the crossing to the USA by cargo ship named “Atlantic Champagne” took place and the transport costs amounted to 321 dollars. The American Mortimer had the body repainted in cream with beige fenders. Then in 1975, Richard Nordin, also from Michigan, took the wheel. After 15 years the crossing to Europe was made again and in 1990 Nordin sold the car to the Swiss Haehnle who in 2012 handed the keys back to a compatriot Mooser. From the above it is clear that the entire history of this SS 1 Coupe has been extensively documented, including the complete restoration carried out in Austria from 2004 to 2009. Many photos and invoices testify to a very professional restoration, with originality and perfection as the guiding principles. An exception was made for the colour, because it was originally black with a brown interior. The current (and also original SS colour) Apple Green makes the SS even more distinctive and accentuates the beautiful lines. At the moment the SS, built in only 1, 372 units, forms part of an impressive SS/ Jaguar collection and may be sold because the owner still possesses an identical, completely unrestored example, and he finds two of the same type superfluous. This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone who wants to see perfection, quality and exclusivity come together in a very handsome and superbly running Coupe.
