Seller's comments about 1952' Jaguar Xk120
1952 JAGUAR XK120 SE 3. 4 ROADSTER LHD
Finished in Jaguar twilight blue metallic with light and dark blue leather trim, complemented by a dark blue mohair hood with white hood frame and side screens. This early vehicle has chrome outside sidelights, steel wheels, hub caps, rim embellishers, white wall tyres with rear wheel spats, drives like new and is in near concours condition having covered a mere 7000 miles since the full ground up restoration. One owner in the USA and two owners in UK including myself.
It left the factory in 1952 and was sent to Los Angeles to the famous Car To The Stars garage, Hornburg Jaguar, Sunset Boulevard. In 1989 the car was discovered in the USA by Michael Erroll, a long-time Jaguar enthusiast and Chairman of the Surrey Vintage Vehicle Society for 20 years (hence the private reg VVS245 which is still on the car). The vehicle was repatriated back to the UK in 1989 whereupon it received a ground up restoration body off the chassis, bare metal re-paint and retrim from 1989-1993 restoration cost circa £42000 at that time. There is a full photographic record with the car.
History folder: current and previous V5s, previous MoT certificates, invoices, condition report, write up on XK120’s, Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate no 60101, photographic record of the restoration, workshop manual, Book entitled Classic Jaguars XK the 6 cylinder cars 1948-1970 by Brian Laban, Owners Handbook, Owners service and maintenance book, various write-ups etc. images of the car when found in 1989, images of the car at Mr Erroll’s home, images of the car when used on a celebrity postage stamp, 1949 Jaguar AutoCar report and press release sheet, Jaguar at Earls Court in 1950, articles, plus factory press release pictures.
Features: whitewall tyres, heater, foldaway hood, dual leather trim, cigar lighter, tonneau cover, side screens, electric cooling fan, hub caps, rim embellishers, wheel spats, metallic paint, and toolkit. The car is fitted with a five speed gearbox at great cost to make the car very usable in today’s traffic.
This is a beautiful, mint example of the marque and offered at a sensible price for both the condition and the rarity.
