This 1978 Jeep CJ7 Renegade really maximizes the ruggedness of this iconic 4x4. That means upgraded V8 power, a lifted suspension, and all the best exterior upgrades to make sure youre the one leading on the trail. The silver/gray color for this Jeep looks like it was formed from rock, and the Renegade decals look like you struck gold. So certainly has the right style for an outdoors machine. And on the more practical side, we bet this wont show as much dust from a day out on the trail. And thats something you better be thinking about because a proper CJ is all about the off-road lifestyle. So this one has plenty of upgrades that show its meant for fun in nature. You see this first up front with the beefy steel bumper that holds the Smittybilt winch, high-lift jack, tow hooks, and spotlights. This upgraded ruggedness continues with the Renegades fender flares that allow for those meaty tires. And we love both the look and the robustness of the extra armor body panels that wrap around the rear. That leads to another strong black steel bumper with tow hooks, a trailer hitch, and a full-size spare. The interior is nicely appointed for both added comfort and ruggedness. That may seem like opposites, but you understand what it means when you sit in the high-back bucket seats. They are robust Bestop units with nice bolstering. You also have shoulder belts on the roll bar and a lockbox armrest center console with cup holders in-between. And the radio has been upgraded to an AM/FM/CD unit with USB and Bluetooth. There are the right driver features with the classic three-spoke steering wheel, nice action on the shifters, and gull gauges with a proper tach. And what youre likely going to enjoy the most is all the freedom to choose how open you want to be to the world. There are removable half doors, soft door tops, a bikini top, and a full convertible roof (minus the easily sourceable frame.) Under the hood is AMCs big 360 cubic-inch V8. This is larger than anything that was offered from the factory, and so that would often be enough muscle for most people. But this one takes it further with an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, aluminum intake, aluminum, and long tube headers feeding the side exhaust. The four-speed manual transmission gives you proper control over this upgraded powerhouse, and the full package delivers the kind of torque that secures the CJ7s go-anywhere reputation. On the trail, this stout V8 is a great partner with 4x4 components like the two-speed transfer case, lifted suspension, and an awesome set of Falken Wildpeak all-terrain tires. But as you look at the upgraded off-road components in the undercarriage photos, you can see a fresher style that gives this one added confidence in all conditions. So the power steering, power brakes, and front disc brakes make for a good in-town cruiser, too. Complete with owners manual, this Jeep has both eye-catching appeal and all the right hardy upgrades to lead the pack. Its the best of style and substance. Call today!!!
