1949 Land Rover Series 1 4X4 Utility. This Series 1 was first registered in July of that year and was delivered new to Armstrong's of Hull. In the early 1980s, a few of the local Series 1 enthusiasts preserved the vehicle on account of its high originality. This Series 1 retains its original engine, gearbox and axles. A painstaking restoration was completed in 2020, retaining many of the Land Rover's key features such as the red paint which suggests that it may of been used as a fire service vehicle at some point in its life. During the restoration, the chassis was shot blasted and repaired, the bodywork was renewed and repaired where required, the engine and gearbox and axles were refurbished and the engine was fitted with new pistons and valves. The radiator was fitted with a new core, Electrics were refreshed including the wiring loom. The brakes and fuel system received new hoses and pipes, along with a new fuel tank and fuel pump. Girling brakes were also fitted. When the car was with JLR Classic, the mileage was estimated at 36, 250 Miles, but the speedometer was changed during the rebuild and little miles have been covered since. JLR Classic have also previously advertised this S1 at £89, 950. Any inspection welcome and delivery available. £44, 995
