Seller's comments about 1968' Land Rover Series 2 A 109Lwb

Regrettably, our lovely 1968 series 2a 109 Land Rover station wagon is for sale.

I have injured myself at work, , needing an operation and recovery time i will be off for the foreseeable so I can no longer keep the land Rover.

It’s a 1968 LWB 109 series 2a land rover that was originally mod. Now Tax and MOT exempt It was privately registered in 1988. A very solid series 3 bulk head has replaced the original. The chassis is again very solid. No welding at all is needed on the chassis or bulkhead. Free wheeling hubs. Almost new Michelin tyres all the way round on the wider sought after wheel rims apparently?

At some point the original petrol engine has been replaced with an Isuzu 4jb1 2.8 turbo diesel. Bloody brilliant engine. Pulls great through all gears. All the original running gear, with series 2 gear box. Never pops out of gear. Four wheel drive and hi & low ratio all works as it should
It has had a brake servo fitted at some point. A brand new fuel tank last year.

I don’t know the correct mileage of the engine or the land rover. The speedo is not working. But the dash is showing almost 56 000. I have no history at all, I don’t know when it last had a cam belt change. When I bought it the bloke had no paper work other than the logbook for it. Completely new exhaust last year Two years ago it also had a respray. The panels are really good on this land rover hardly a dent or ding in sight.

Top of front passenger door has been replaced. The drivers side front door top needs replacing. Other than the window channel on the front passenger door the window channel needs replacing all the way round. Which I will throw in if I get the right price. It’s the quality Pegasus channel it costs a fortune.
The second row/rear doors have the usual rust but are solid enough to use. I was intending to weld them up at some point but now I’m selling some one else can do that. I have tried to find spares but they are like rocking horse shit.

The speedo and fuel and temperature gauge do not work. I think someone that knows more than me about auto electrics would sort it in five mins, i might possibly get this fixed.

It’s a proper old land rover that the whole family, the dogs and the bikes can get in, exactly as we have used it. It runs and drives brilliantly and starts instantly It’s great we love it it’s a very reluctant sale. There are 5 seats as is but you can fit bench seats in the rear and a middle seat in the front if you wanted.

V5 is present and in my name. Im droning on but to reiterate, instant starter and in sound solid condition all over can jump straight in and use. Bulkhead and chassis on this land rover are spot on.
Please call Dan if interested. no time wasters please.

Cheers
