Seller's comments about 1954' Land Rover Series I 86"
For Sale on behalf of our customer: 1954, 86” – He acquired the vehicle in January 2009, but it was previously owned by a friend of his since 1987 – meaning he has known of the car for some 36 years. The car has been used regularly for local journeys around the countryside in Edge Hill, between Banbury and Warwick and is very reliable. The bulkhead was rebuilt in 2010 to proper spec, followed by fitting a complete new wiring loom. The chassis is very sound having had some previous minor repairs carried out to a decent standard. The vehicle has just had an engine rebuild using a donor block (original had excessive wear in the bores) with the cylinder head skimmed and rebuilt with new valves, guides and stem seals. All new gaskets throughout, new core plugs and front/ rear crankshaft seals replaced. New water pump, new thermostat housing/ thermostat, new clutch and pressure plate. Original bare engine block available to go with the vehicle if full asking price is paid. Carburettor and distributor rebuilt as well, along with new HT leads and coil fitted. All radiator hoses recently replaced and correct new wire hose clips used. The car can be described as very original and has unrestored bodywork, all in good condition but delightfully scruffy meaning the car has not been got at or tarted up. All gears and hi/ low box work perfectly, as do the brakes. New Battery, SU fuel pump and all fuel lines recently fitted along with a rebuilt fuel sediment unit . New Undercover Covers canvas hood to original specification fitted in 2017 along with new seats as well. Recent new shock absorbers and good Avon Traction tyres fitted all round. Drives very well with outstanding oil pressure. Only for sale as he is thinning out his collection. Too many Classic Cars. Call Kerry Wilson South Warwickshire
