Seller's comments about 1964' Maserati 3500 GT

English below 1963 Maserati Sebring Series I (AM101) – Matching Numbers, exceptional history, restored & technically overhauled A rare opportunity to acquire a particularly correct and high-quality example of the iconic Maserati Sebring Series I. This 1963 car is one of the most original and best documented Sebrings currently offered on the market. This early Series I example, chassis AM10102029, still has its original matching-numbers engine (AM10102029) and is equipped with the coveted 3.5-liter six-cylinder with Lucas mechanical injection (173 kW). In combination with the popular ZF 5-speed gearbox (S5/17), this Maserati offers a refined but at the same time involved driving experience, completely in line with Maserati's grand touring character. The car is finished in the original factory color Grigio Grafite (not metallic) with a red leather interior — an extremely rare and highly sought-after color combination that fits perfectly with the elegant Italian design of the 1960s. The interior is largely still in its original condition and has retained a beautiful, authentic patina. The bodywork, designed and built by Carrozzeria Vignale, was extensively restored between 2018 and 2020, with the car being rebuilt from the ground up. A conscious decision was made not to "over-restore" the car, so that the character and originality were preserved. Various chrome parts, including bumpers and grille, are still in original condition. Technically the car has been extensively overhauled. Numerous components have been renewed or overhauled, including pipes, pumps, electrical installation, cooling system (including radiator and electric fan), brakes, suspension, bearings, rubbers and the exhaust system (stainless steel). The original Lucas injection system has also been retained and is functioning. In July 2025, the engine was completely overhauled by Van Giersbergen Motorrevisie (invoice €20,000 available), after which a new water pump was installed in February 2026. This means the car is in top technical condition and can be used immediately. This copy is fully matching numbers, confirmed by documentation and correspondence with Maserati and Louwman. The history of the car is exceptionally well documented. The car was delivered new on January 1, 1964 by Maserati Nice to Societé Someco in Antibes (France). Subsequent owners are fully known and documented, including official correspondence from the Prefecture of Alpes-Maritimes confirming its provenance and ownership history. In 2015, the car was purchased in Padua by a Dutch specialist in Italian cars, after which it was registered in the Netherlands. The car has a Dutch license plate (PM-09-67), with the original French license plates still present. Main features: -Maserati Sebring Series I (AM101), year 1963 -Matching numbers (engine and chassis), factory confirmed -3. 5L inline six with original Lucas injection -ZF 5-speed gearbox (S5/17) -Original color scheme: Grigio Grafite with red leather -Interior largely original with beautiful patina -Restoration 2018–2020 (photo documentation available) -Extensive technical overhaul -Engine overhaul July 2025 (€20,000) -New water pump February 2026 - Delivered new via Maserati Nice (France) - Fully documented history from new - Dutch license plate, original French plates available An exceptionally correct, honest and not over-restored example of the Maserati Sebring Series I. A rare combination of originality, history and recent technical investments makes this a very attractive collector's item. 1963 Maserati Sebring Series I (AM101) – Matching Numbers, Exceptional Provenance, Restored & Mechanically Rebuilt A rare and highly collectible example of the iconic Maserati Sebring Series I, this 1963 car represents one of the most correct and well-documented examples currently available on the market. Built on chassis AM10102029, this early Series I example retains its original matching-numbers engine (AM10102029) and is equipped with the desirable 3. 5-litre inline-six with Lucas mechanical fuel injection, producing 173 kW. Power is delivered through the sought-after ZF 5-speed manual gearbox (S5/17), offering an engaging yet refined grand touring experience. The car is finished in its original factory color combination of Grigio Grafite (non-metallic) over red leather — a striking and extremely rare pairing that perfectly captures the understated elegance of 1960s Italian design. The interior remains largely original, displaying a beautiful and authentic patina that has been carefully preserved. Designed and bodied by Vignale, the car underwent a comprehensive restoration between 2018 and 2020, during which it was rebuilt from the ground up. Great care was taken to retain originality and avoid over-restoration, preserving the character and integrity of the car. Notably...
