The Daimler Benz car, model Mercedes-Benz W121 version 190 SL, is a sports car produced in Germany from January 1955 to February 1963. The prototype was first shown in 1954 in New York in a 2-door coupe body style. The body structure was based on a shortened floor plate from the sedan version. Sold simultaneously with the more luxurious and more expensive 300 SL model.
The Daimler Benz 190 SL car is a type of car with an open body, which was then entering mass production with a self-supporting body. Powered by a "short-stroke" engine (this was the name given to engines used at that time, in which the piston stroke was smaller than the cylinder diameter) with a capacity of 1.9 liters, it was called the "most quiet" despite significant difficulties in adjusting two Weber carburetors.
