Vehicle history:
At the request of the well-known New York general importer Max Hoffman, Mercedes-Benz created the 300 SL on the base of the 1952 racing coupe. The 300 SL is without doubt one of the most spectacular cars in automotive history, a masterpiece of design and performance with an unmistakably stylish interior. As the successor to the famous 300 SL Gullwing, only 3, 258 examples were built as a roadster variant from 1957 to 1963, henceforth combining breathtaking design with the option of driving with the top down. Undoubtedly a 300 SL crowns any significant car collection.
This 300 SL Roadster in signal red and beige leather was delivered on 09. 10. 1961. Twenty-five years ago, this 300 SL was completely restored by a well-known brand specialist. The roadster has been driven 84, 838 km since then. This example is one of only 269 examples with factory disc brakes. The included sought-after body-color hardtop and custom original luggage set are testament to this car's guarded history. The car has been in current collector ownership for 20 years. A rare opportunity to acquire one of the icons of automotive history.
