Mercedes SLC 5.0 is the most wanted version of this iconic coupe, produced in the amount of 2769 units. In September 1977, Mercedes-Benz launched the 450 SLC 5.0 with 240 hp, equipped with a front splitter and a rear spoiler on the trunk lid. The bonnet, trunk lid and bumper reinforcements are made of aluminum. It is a car with a rich rally history. The SLC 5.0 (and later the SLC 500) is the car used by the Mercedes-Benz works teams in endurance rallies, winning overall titles in both South America and Africa. The 450 SLC 5.0 became the first car with a V8 engine and the first automatic car to win a World Rally Championship qualifier.
