Please view the video about the vehicle included in this advertisement!According to the data plate, this Pagoda was manufactured on 26 November 1970 and soon left Germany for the USA. Initially registered in 1971, the SL remained in sunny Florida for around 50 years, until its return to Germany became evident after the bodywork had been removed. The restoration work was subsequently carried out in full by a German restoration specialist. After complete repainting, interior renewal, the soft top and tyres, the engine, gearbox, differential, etc. were overhauled. After restoration the Pagoda was driven for only up to 500 km for test runs.We then sold it to a classic Ferraris collector about three years ago, who has driven it only 2, 300 km so far. At his request it was modified with a new, perfectly shifting GETRAG 6-speed gearbox and adjustable KONI shock absorbers, delivering unparalleled handling for this Pagoda! Nothing remains of the tired and especially loud 4-speed 280SL that left the factory. Other special requests included Baroque wheels (see photo 2/ 9), a removable wind deflector, automatic seat belts, and the door panels were updated to European standards since then (see photos 3/ 4/ 5). We will shortly present a new photo series!A perfect daily driver, not only extremely dynamic but also very relaxed to drive. This classic is in perfect condition, not driven in the rain, with no outstanding service work.) * GETRAG 6-GANG MANUAL TRANSMISSIONIn the 1970s and 1980s AMG fitted several Pagoda W113-, 109- and 107-models with manual Getrag gearboxes. Getrag was already a gearbox supplier for Porsche and BMW in the 1970s. This gearbox delivers unparalleled driving dynamics for the Pagoda. Short shift throw and perfect gearing, whether cruising or sporty.
