Mercedes-Benz SLC (C107) - a Mercedes Benz coupé car. Put into production in 1972. It replaced the W111 cruiser. It is a twin design of the SL (R107) model, with the SLC being 36 centimeters longer. Thanks to this, it can accommodate four full-size seats. The body of the model is stylistically similar to the S-class W116, and the engines also come from it. The donor of many suspension elements is the mid-range model - W114. A characteristic feature of the SLC are the "curtains" located above the rear fenders. They were used to allow full exposure of the side windows, which, in the absence of a central pillar, creates a harmonious empty space. If the windows were brought to the C-pillar, it would be impossible to fully retract them due to too little space in the rear fenders. Production of the SLC model ended in 1981, with approximately 62,500 units produced. This represents less than one third of the SL's total production. The SLC version should therefore be considered a more exotic car than the SL (R 107 cabrio), however, it is not as appreciated on the collector's market due to the greater popularity of the R107.
