EXTERIOR
This gorgeous Messerschmitt has been finished with the rare 'bubble dome.' Completely rebuilt during 2004-2006, by our late Father, from a rusty shell that was delivered in the back of a Transit.
Finished to a high standard, the car has received a complete rebuild from the floor to the dome.
Painted in a vibrant yellow, the lines of this German masterpiece are unspoilt, with all panels, straight and free from damage and all trim is well preserved. Close inspection reveals little more than light stone chips, markings and a miniscule ding to the rear where the dome closes over the boot.

INTERIOR
Fully reupholstered in blue and white to really make the car stand out. Features the iconic steering wheel and a starter button to give it that aeroplane feel. Rubber floor cover is in good condition and all dials/lights work and are respectable. Function of front seat lifting up for entry is perfect. The factory sticker for ratios of fuel and oil still remains.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
Nut and bolt restoration to the Fichtel & Sachs, air cooled, 2stroke, 191cc engine. Rolled out the factory with a cool 9bhp. All 4 gears change smoothly and clutch sits nice. Has a motorbike gearbox so really is a fun thing to try and drive. Issue with contacts on dynastarter when pushing ignition in to reverse.

WHEELS & BRAKES
3x 8" steel wheels with 1x spare in the boot.
Mechanical brake lever operating 3x drums.
HISTORY:
The car was imported from Germany to Ireland in the 70's where it stood until 2004 when purchased by my Father,
German and Irish registration plates still present. The car was originally light blue but not much was left of that.
A whole new floor was added, whilst repairs were made to the original nosecone and side panels, the Sachs engine was removed and fully rebuilt, exhaust refurbished, and non original back box powder coated.
The dome, which can be hard to fit was trimmed down and slotted in to the refurbished window frames, arrow straight with no cracks, damage or blemishes. This brings the sky to you!
The wheels were refurbished, 2 piece split originals, painted in black with chrome hub caps, new white wall 8 inch tyres were added.
The suspension and brakes were completely overhauled with new bushes, brake pads, cables. Bringing the car to a straight and assured stop.
Sanded back and repaired to bare metal, (no filler.)
This is a car to be noticed in, so it was painted with 3 coats of 2001 Volkswagen beetle yellow, to give it a charming but inoffensive look, the car receives absolute adoration wherever it goes.
The interior had new cushions, panels and trim
This is not a concours vehicle. This is an honest Messerschmitt with nothing to hide, lovingly restored, and is ready to use and enjoy.

Tax and MOT exempt
This really is a beautiful piece of history. Ready to run on the road. Yet to see a head not spin round when they hear the roar of the 2 stroke.
By separate negotiation, a bespoke trailer built specifically to carry the Messerschmitt can be purchased. Made from galvanized steel, it fits the car perfectly.
