Seller's comments about 1968' MG MGC
This is an absolutely superb example, in fact one of the best, of the highly desirable and powerful MGC. This example, in Roadster form, was first registered on 1st August 1968, and according the Heritage Certificate, came with overdrive, wire wheels, heater and fold-away hood. The car was originally sold by Mann Egerton of Norwich, then later, underwent a complete restoration in 1995/ 96 by British Classic Investments, for the owner of the car – a wealthy business man who used the car for display purposes. This included a fully body renovation, renovation of mechanics and upholstery, all to a very high standard, as you can see. During this ownership, the car was kept in a dehumidified barn, and was maintained by a local garage, owned by an ex-University Motors employee. It was sold on a few years later, then once again to another wealthy custodian, who kept it in his extensive private collection until 2023. At this time, it was sold to a dealer in Exeter, who sold the car to the current owner. It is now in truly excellent condition, even the underside is gloss painted to match the bodywork. The bodywork is pretty much unmarked, the mechanics are in excellent condition, all working well and the interior of the car is almost like new including leather, original-style seats, dashboard, carpets, etc. The car has electronic ignition and starts quickly, and the engine provides of plenty of power with strong oil pressure and no over-heating. The gearbox is nice and tight and the overdrive is smooth. The wiring is all in A1 condition as are the fuel lines, brake pipes etc. Recently, it has had new tubes and Blockley tyres, and a full overhaul of the braking system, including new discs, callipers and pads at the front. It has a vinyl hood and tonneau cover, both in good order. Paperwork includes aforementioned Heritage Certificate, lots of old MOT certificates, magazine articles about the car, V5C, current MOT to 22nd July 2026 and original sales brochure.
