Seller's comments about 1979' MG Midget 1500 Mgb

Delivered to its first owner on the 1st January 1979, this Midget 1500 is finished in her original Pagent Blue and comes with the Autumn Leaf interior (seats with optional head-rests), black hood and both the hood cover and full touring tonneau cover. Walking around the car, we're delighted to say that the bodywork remains in very good condition, the panel gaps are all excellent and the Pagent Blue paintwork polishes to a beautiful shine, the original rubber bumpers are in excellent condition, free from any scuffs / fading and the lens / glass / rubbers all remain in excellent condition too. The eagle-eyed will have spotted that this Midget no longer sits on her original Rostyle wheels but now sports a set of 13" Minilite style wheels, with diamond cut lips, 'MG' crested centre caps, and has a matched set of tyres, showing 6mm + all round and clearly loved by a previous keeper of 20 years its great to see the MG Car Club and MG Midget Register badges sitting either side of the black / silver number plates too.
The wonderfully feel extends to the interior too. Open the door and you're meet with the original MG logo'd steering wheel, inertia-reel seatbelts, the original seats and carpets (new) are in fantastic condition too and should you need test the folding soft-top we're happy to say this remains in excellent, 'as new', condition too ...... though naturally we would rather enjoy top-down motoring with either the hood cover or touring tonneau in place, keeping the classic lines nice and clean.
Mechanically the Midget is in fine fettle too. Well maintained and used sparingly, she shows just 89k miles, the engine fires from cold and with a little choke settles into its 'roarty' idle. Driving the Midget we're happy to report that she performs well; she pulls cleanly in all gears and offers light positive steering, brakes well, corners nicely and feels tight, the excellent drive being support with a raft of invoices confirming cherished on-going maintenance and ahead of any sale the car will pass to our trusted engineer for a bumper-bumper 'health check' attending to any pre-MOT works, she'll be serviced and naturally come with a new 12 month MOT too!
With the best, show, examples now commanding £12k+ and poorly maintained / resto examples being cost prohibitive to improve / perfect, finding a nice MG Midget isn't as straight forward as one might think. Well prepared and cherished with a good history file (we have invoices for circa £3k plus our experience tells us she's a well cared for older professional restoration), this Midget is a lovely example, fabulously maintained and well sorted. She offers any classic enthusiast a great way into classic MG ownership, whether it's for shows / high-days / holidays or one that can be enjoyed on a daily basis too.
