1961' Morris Mini 850

We are pleased to offer a wonderful slice of the nineteen sixties and a Mini that I have grown very fond of indeed. I have had the pleasure of working on, driving and enjoying this excellent example and it is now time for it to start a new Mini adventure. Registered new on the 1st of September 1961 and supplied by J. C Beadles LTD of Kent. this MK1 Mini has kept all of its lovely original DNA unlike many making it unique amongst its fully restored siblings. Finished in gleaming Old English white, this pull handle model offers its lucky new owner the pure Mini driving experience that only the early cars can offer, an immersive real drivers experience. This MK1 is accompanied with a history folder, original handbook and a Heritage certificate. The previous owner cared for it for 25 years. We have carefully recommissioned this Mini and kept its originality along the way.
On the road this MK1 is excellent to drive and offers a real Time warp experience. The interior is completely original so this adds to the experience. Turn the key, push the floor start button and off you go. The original 850 engine is very well behaved and near silent. It has a completely overhauled cylinder head and a rebuilt carb so it is very responsive. It has very brisk performance that will certainly surprise you. The ten inch wheels with four new tyres also offers excellent handling. Get out on the open road, pushing it through the magic wand gear stick and this Mini will quickly charm you as it has me, stop anywhere and you will become instantly popular.
As mentioned this Mini has a completely original interior. The seats, door cards, dash liner, roof liner and carpets are all 63 years of age, a real testament to this Minis cared for existence. It really is a wonderful place to sit. It also features period extras such as twin sun visors, heater and rear companion bin lights that still work.
This Mini also has an unrestored shell that has obviously had repairs over the years, however, amazingly it has its original sills, inner sills, all four floor pans and untouched boot floor. We have left the boot floor "as is " for that very reason. This is very rare especially with such an early car. It also has all of its original factory tags, which include, original chassis number tag, inner wing FE number, a further bulk head tag and a number stamped on the flitch. Both front floor pans also have there original tags which is a wonderful amount of original provenance. It also has a new rear subframe.
This is a beautiful early example with gleaming paintwork, well presented brightwork and a very original shell. It is ready to be driven and enjoyed and hopefully its new owner will enjoy this Mini as much as I have.
It has been thoroughly checked, driven and serviced. It also has a full MOT which it passed first time and is of course MOT and Tax exempt.
