1950' Morris Minor

For Sale, 1950 MM Lowlight LHD
Formerly exhibited at the NEC, I imported this car in 2019 from Sweden where it had spent the last 30 years hibernating in a hayloft hidden from view. It comes with certified copies of the original Swedish ownership papers as well as a UK heritage certificate. I completed the NOVA declaration on import, but I have never registered it in my name here in the UK however, all the documentation is in place to do this so the new owner should not have a problem doing this.
Mechanically, I had the rear brakes rebuilt back in 2019 with new cylinders and shoes whilst the front brakes were stripped but, not rebuilt and still require new cylinders to be purchased and fitted. The gearbox works fine however, the engine block had suffered frost damage and split on the water jacket. As a result, the engine is currently out of the car however, a replacement good condition block is included with the sale. 4 new tyres are included, but not fitted to the car.
The body work is currently maintaining it’s historical patina look but has no structural rust. In 2019 on import I had a small patch on the front chassis leg welded but otherwise the car is original with solid floors, jacking points, crossmember and spring hangers. It has been dry stored since 2019 under a sheet so I see no reason that this would have changed. I have the front bumper but, not the rear bumper. Apart from the windscreen I have no glass with the car but, I have been offered a full set by another club member who’s details I can pass on to the purchaser. I have 4 used front RHD headlights for it but, no rear lights.
Interior wise, I have the original seats front and back seats along with the door cards which whilst a bit tired could be rejuvenated or recovered depending on your tastes. However, the carpet and headlining are both missing. The steering wheel will need to be refurbished with a new resin grip all round. The paintwork inside shows the original green/ blue colour of the vehicle.
I am in no rush to sell this car, but I have decided that I need to seriously thin out my projects and as I haven’t touched this car in nearly 3 years it is time this one found a new enthusiastic owner to restore it.
