MORRIS 1000 TOURER 1963 GENUINE FACTORY TOURER MOT’d DRIVE AWAY ! ! !
£7995
! ! ! ! SEE THE COMPREHENSIVE WALK ROUND / DRIVE / DEMO YouTube VIDEO ! ! ! !
Bought new on the 6th March 1963 this beautiful Moggy is ready for summer shows, ride outs, picnics and pub visits. A genuine factory tourer in unmolested condition with just 5 owners over the last 61 year. Finished Almond Green it presents really well and drives lovely, please don’t miss our comprehensive YouTube demonstration video which shows the car in its entirety.
It starts instantly and runs well, drives effortlessly the 948cc engine pulling strongly through all the gears, great clutch with no slip or judder, it does not jump out of first gear and it stops well (again please see the video we spend over 6 minutes touring the underside), handbrake is good, all the head / side lights, wipers, washers, horn, wind down windows, quarter lights, door catches and locks all work as intended, both doors open easily and click shut and stay shut, it all locks up including the boot and petrol cap.
There is no breathing from the oil filer cap when running (see the video), its very tidy in the engine bay, all in all it drives really well with no wander at the steering wheel and no veering if you brake hard, its sitting on very good set of tyres all with ample tread and no signs of age cracks.
Recent investment includes a brand-new hood and new carpets, the hood folds down and up again with no effort, also has new chrome trims on the bumpers. The seats are all presentable, the fronts have been redone some years ago and they match well, the door cards and rear panels are all presentable. Just had new bump stops and “U” bolts fitted on the rear axle.
Currently showing only 11174 miles, however we cannot confirm the low miles as 100% correct and it’s has more than likely gone round or been reset over the years. The car is HPI clear, we have the full current logbook, despite being tax & MOT exempt it has current Mot to 15th July 2025, the road tax is free, classic insurance should be a round £100 for most drivers over 25.
Not sure if “4128 VB” would be its original registration mark, but there are no comments on the logbook and it is not stamped “None transferable registration number” so it could well be original. Parts are readily available and there are a multitude of clubs, rallies, regional and national groups for these charming little cars.
The paintwork is very good, with good shine and offering a nice reflection when caught in the sunlight, the odd imperfection will be found on very close inspection, it’s a very honest looking and very usable car you’d not be afraid to take anywhere. Bright work is all good, some parts new and some slightly aged but all perfectly fine. In the boot is a spare wheel and some other bits and bobs.
As with any classic car there are areas to be improved, it has the optional Smiths heater fitted but the switch is not working, the spare wheel would get you home, but the tyre is aged. There are two additional gauges fitted below the dash panel which are none standard but could easily be removed if required.
There are loads of Moggy’s to pick from, you will NOT find another with such a detailed description and in-depth demonstration video and a long MOT, nothing hidden and nothing to hide, any inspection welcomed, its patiently awaiting its new owner to cherish it and enjoy some motoring adventures this summer.
Draw out of your boring ISA, get out the picnic hamper and go and enjoy your hard-earned savings, you still have a car to sell if you want to cash in later and you will be making memories instead of a pittance of interest.
A genuine factory-built tourer, with low ownership, not been molested and ready to enjoy this summer.
UNLEADED FUEL
We are often asked “Will it run on unleaded fuel”, there has not been any 4 star leaded fuel available to buy in this country for over 24 years, so every surviving classic car is currently running fine on unleaded fuel and has been for over two decades. The buyer can decide to put in additive in if they choose, I run classics and do not add anything, but it’s a personal choice.
