Arguably one of the best, unmolested Series 3 remaining, I have owned this car for over thirty years. It has been garaged for that whole period. In full working order, insured and registered, with no road tax payable, I use it only sparingly. It ticks over like a dream and has excellent oil pressure. I believe, but can not guarantee, that the mileage shown is correct. I think that it is also in the best colour that they produced. Minor paintwork was done prior to my daughter’s wedding, ten years ago, when the brakes were overhauled and a new carpet and underlay fitted. For authenticity, the quality carpet was made to accommodate the original rubber heel mat . The car has recently had the engine, gearbox and diff. oil changed. All lights, including the trafficators, work perfectly. The headlining is all good and original. The carburettor was rebuilt last year. A new battery was fitted last year and four new tyres this year. The clutch slave cylinder was rebuilt this year, and a new brake and clutch master cylinder has been fitted recently.
Work in prospect: The rear bumper needs re-chroming.
The front seat squab needs attention.
I drive this car happily, but in the interests of the modern obsession with health and safety, to protect myself I must say that the buyer must satisfy himself that it is roadworthy before driving away.
