Seller's comments about 1971' Opel GT

sports passenger car OPEL GT1971 (placed on the factory nameplate in the engine compartment and repeated on the plate in front of the driver) - type of ignition and engine Z.I. R-4 - engine capacity and power (catalogue) 1894 ccm; 62 kW - current registration number ....... - vehicle mileage (meter reading) 96,430 km. Technical and historical assessment of the vehicle. The OPEL company that exists to this day comes from the name of the von Opel brothers, who at the end of the 19th century constructed the first German cars, also using a license from DARRACQ. Many vehicles constructed by OPEL had world-class, innovative solutions and a sporty character - such as a racing car from 1913 or a rocket-powered vehicle from 1928. Currently part of the GM concern, OPEL also produced popular passenger cars in large quantities. The "GT" model appeared during the growing legend of the American car CHEVROLET-CORVETTE produced in the USA by the GM concern - and was a smaller version of this car (initially with an engine capacity of 1,100 cc, and then with a capacity of 1,900 cc. These sports-tourist cars OPEL "GT" were produced in 1968 - 1973. Due to the short series of the model produced and the iconic nature of the car - all OPEL-GT cars are currently sought after by collectors in many countries. The reviewed copy, produced at the end of 1971, was intended for the American market, where it was first registered in 1972 in the state of California. The second owner from 1998 was a collector from the state of Washington, who sold the car to another owner from Poland. From October 22, 2012, the car was registered as a historic vehicle with all original components, including the carburetor engine and automatic transmission. Due to the progressive wear of the entire drive unit - it was recently replaced with a modern OPLA engine with fuel injection and a manual gearbox - which improved the driving properties of the vehicle, but reduced its historical, historic and collector's values. The car is in perfect condition, after a major renovation. Used for recreation, garaged. I have a preserved, functional original engine and gearbox, as well as a complete set of documentation, including valuations and opinions of an expert appraiser. PRICE NEGOTIABLE!!!
