The OPEL company that exists to this day comes from the name of the von Opel brothers, who at the end of the 19th century constructed the first German cars, also using a license from DARRACQ. Many vehicles constructed by OPEL had world-class, innovative solutions and a sporty character - such as a racing car from 1913 or a rocket-powered vehicle from 1928. Currently part of the GM concern, OPEL also produced popular passenger cars in large quantities. The "GT" model appeared during the growing legend of the American car CHEVROLET-CORVETTE produced in the USA by the GM concern - and was a smaller version of this car (initially with an engine capacity of 1,100 cc, and then with a capacity of 1,900 cc. These sports-tourist cars OPEL "GT" were produced in 1968 - 1973.
