Seller's comments about 1966' Reliant Scimitar

The SE4 GT Coupe was the vey first Scimitar made by the Reliant Motor Company for just two years in small numbers in the mid 1960’s. It had a very pretty Ogle designed body mounted on the rally proven Sabre Six chassis with the same Zephyr/ Zodiac Straight Six engine but now uprated with triple SU’s.EEN 873D was one of the last SE4’s built and possibly the next to last of the 30 or so still remaining. The car was excellently restored by RSSOC members over a 25 year period starting in the 1980’s and the car has since been well documented and featured within the club. This was a fastidious rebuild of virtually everything starting with the chassis which was upgraded to SE4a spec and fully galvanised. There was a specialist engine rebuild, suspension and drive train overhaul and a first class body refinish. The chrome work was renewed as was the complete interior together with some personal preferences by the proud owner including a hardwood dash and there is a comprehensive record of all this work carried out in the extensive files and paperwork. Straight Six has serviced, maintained and fine tuned the car including changing the front suspension which has resulted in a comfortable grand touring car which we would happily get in and dive anywhere. On a recent show outing it was the favourite car of the organisers which is not surprising as the car is rare car is simply stunning.
