Stunning Riley 2. 6 Manual Overdrive, first registered 04/ 07/ 1958. This car has only had 2 previous owners and comes with a history file, magazine articles, sales brochure, Heritage Certificate, drivers handbook and original log book showing the original registration number which the car still retains today and which has a value of approximately £3, 000, though in my mind the true value is with the number staying with the car. This has to be one of the very best examples of this very rare car. I have been in and around the classic car trade for over 40 years and I have only seen four Riley Two Point Sixes in my time and this is one of them and the second one I also owned. The first 2. 6 I ever saw was 20 years ago and was a project car the second was 2 years ago at a small museum and the other two I owned. This stunning example has been the subject of a quality restoration over a number of years and has been treated to a bare metal re-spray in its original colour scheme of Charcoal Grey over Firlford Grey. This is one of a production run totalling 2000 cars of which a portion were sent for export hence making this Riley model extremely rare today. Paint and panel fit are superb as is the underside and chrome work, all the wood has been refurbished to a very high standard, new quality carpets have been fitted along with a new West of England wooden head lining, the seats and door cards are original so keeping that all important patina and character that is so often lost with over restored cars. Mechanically on the button with good oil pressure, smooth gear changes from the manual/ overdrive gearbox all help to make this Riley a delight to drive. This Riley would not only grace any show ground but could easily be an award winner if thats your thing. Finding one is very difficult, finding one in this condition could take you years, I know it took me as long to find this one ! It’s going to be a real wrench selling this car !
